The Laptop Has Landed.

After many years of toiling away on a crap computer I finally got round to buying an upgrade at the weekend. My old, loyal pc, which runs off Windows 95 no less is almost dead. It takes fro ever and a day to boot up, the keyboard is knackered and won't download half the stuff out in the internetosphere anymore.

So enough is enough. I needed a new one. I almost bought a desktop last year but the shop I went to had 'stock control' problems, which basically meant that the special offer that they advertised didn't real exist. So on Friday I took the bull by the horns and aided by my mate Jim Fujitsu I did some reseach and finally plumped for a HP Pavilion Media Center dv9233eu Entertainment Notebook PC. It don't know what all that means but what I don know is that it is very beautiful to look at, has a 17 inch widescreen and all the bells and whistles including a built in web cam. I can't blog from it yet as i am awaiting the installation of broadband on 13th April. However once that is done I'll be well and truely back in the world of blog.

Marmite Returns.

Sorry for the hiatus in publishing on this blog but I have been incapacitated of late. My home pc is almost deaded (although I am hoping to obtain a new one next week) and I have been unable to get out to another pc because I have had to rest because of increased pain in my back and hip. I have been off work for 6 long weeks and I am starting to climb the walls. I had a day stay in hospital two weeks ago for some treatment on said back (which hasn't worked out as well as I'd hoped) and I'm hoping to go back to work again next week. I'm probably not any better than when I went off 6 weeks ago but I've got to give it a go.

This week has been the first time I've really ventured out, apart from a trip to see the mighty Low in London the day before my small op and the odd trip to Tesco's. As Lady Bracknell mentioned in her guest spot on the blog (thanks for downloading the pictures Lady B) I have got myself inked again however. I had it done this week (Wednesday) at the fabulous Shamanic Art and again the work was done brilliantly by Giselle. Most of the tattoo was done freehand except for the Japanese symbols. The top symbol is a previous (an my first) tattoo and means love. I wanted to enhance the whole thing. I wanted some kind of light rays around it so Giselle came up with the idea to have another couple of Japanese symbols and have them on a stone tablet. I did some research into Japanese symbols and I liked the meaning of these two. The middle symbol is 'kyou' meaning 'strenght' and the second is 'yuu' meaning 'courage'.

Like my previous work I wanted the tattoo to mean something, rather than just get a meaningless tattoo just for the sake of it. I am very pleased with how it has turned out and as usual I'm indebted to Giselle for her amazing work, although she did inflict considerable pain on me during my stint in her chair. Never let anyone tell you that tattooing doesn't hurt because it does, sometimes it really hurts.

I'm already planning the next one which, all things being equal will be a set of wings on my right ankle. Lady B found me a website last year taht had loads of wing designs on it and although there wasn't anything quite right on there, it was a good starting place.

Can I just say a big thank you to The Goldfish for the card she sent me recently. It was very kind of you and it cheered me up.

Guest blogging

Young Master Marmite, being currently unable to access a computing device himself, has (some might say foolishly) apprised Lady Bracknell's Editor of the password to his blog so that she might publish photographs of his latest foray into the world of self-decoration.

He has thus far failed to provide the Editor with information regarding the detail of this latest design, but will no doubt expatiate at length about its significance upon his return to the blogosphere. A return which, Lady Bracknell is led to believe, is now imminent.

Lady Bracknell must now exercise great restraint and refrain from composing salacious blog entries which she might hope (by dint of a few judicious spelling errors and a somewhat cavalier attitude to the generally-accepted rules of punctuation) to pass off as the work of Young Master Marmite himself. Neither will she be susceptible to bribes from such of Master Marmite's friends who might wish to persuade her to part with what she believes are generally referred to as his "log-in details".
