Sorry for the hiatus in publishing on this blog but I have been incapacitated of late. My home pc is almost deaded (although I am hoping to obtain a new one next week) and I have been unable to get out to another pc because I have had to rest because of increased pain in my back and hip. I have been off work for 6 long weeks and I am starting to climb the walls. I had a day stay in hospital two weeks ago for some treatment on said back (which hasn't worked out as well as I'd hoped) and I'm hoping to go back to work again next week. I'm probably not any better than when I went off 6 weeks ago but I've got to give it a go.
This week has been the first time I've really ventured out, apart from a trip to see the mighty Low in London the day before my small op and the odd trip to Tesco's. As Lady Bracknell mentioned in her guest spot on the blog (thanks for downloading the pictures Lady B) I have got myself inked again however. I had it done this week (Wednesday) at the fabulous Shamanic Art and again the work was done brilliantly by Giselle. Most of the tattoo was done freehand except for the Japanese symbols. The top symbol is a previous (an my first) tattoo and means love. I wanted to enhance the whole thing. I wanted some kind of light rays around it so Giselle came up with the idea to have another couple of Japanese symbols and have them on a stone tablet. I did some research into Japanese symbols and I liked the meaning of these two. The middle symbol is 'kyou' meaning 'strenght' and the second is 'yuu' meaning 'courage'.
Like my previous work I wanted the tattoo to mean something, rather than just get a meaningless tattoo just for the sake of it. I am very pleased with how it has turned out and as usual I'm indebted to Giselle for her amazing work, although she did inflict considerable pain on me during my stint in her chair. Never let anyone tell you that tattooing doesn't hurt because it does, sometimes it really hurts.
I'm already planning the next one which, all things being equal will be a set of wings on my right ankle. Lady B found me a website last year taht had loads of wing designs on it and although there wasn't anything quite right on there, it was a good starting place.
Can I just say a big thank you to The Goldfish for the card she sent me recently. It was very kind of you and it cheered me up.
